PREFACE

This is the fourth edition of The Ships Atlas. It has been extensively revised, re-checked and updated and in this regard we would wish to thank our Editor, Feargal Hogan, for his considerable efforts to complete the great amount of work involved in the production.

The Index contains over eight thousand entries many of which are accompanied by details of port data extracted from our Guide to Port Entry and it includes over eight hundred more entries than our first edition. New insert maps and national borders have also been included.

The Ships Atlas has proved to be most suitable as a useful presentation gift for companies in the shipping industry and in this respect we should remind purchasers that they may obtain copies gold-blocked with their company name, on application to ourselves.

We do hope that The Ships Atlas will be of assistance to you in your work.

Robert Pedlow Charles Watson Directors

Reigate September 1991.
